Police in Dhobley town today arrested a suspect identified as Sheeqeey Abdullahi Abdi Ali, who is accused of trafficking illegal narcotics and attempting to smuggle a large quantity of hashish into the town.

According to security officials, the suspect was arrested during a joint security operation carried out on Sunday night by security forces in Dhobley District. The operation was launched following intelligence reports indicating that a shipment of the narcotic drug known as hashish was being brought into the town.

Authorities said security personnel successfully intercepted the suspect and seized 9 kilograms of hashish that he allegedly intended to distribute within Dhobley.

Security agencies noted that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb the trafficking and sale of illegal drugs, which pose a serious threat to public safety and community well-being.

Police further revealed that this is not the first time the suspect has faced similar allegations. Sheeqeey Abdullahi Abdi Ali was previously arrested in connection with a comparable narcotics trafficking case and was brought before the Dhobley District Court, which sentenced him to a term of imprisonment and a financial penalty.
After serving his sentence, he was released.

However, security officials stated that the suspect has now been arrested once again in connection with a similar offense after being apprehended by Dhobley security forces during the latest operation.

The accused remains in police custody as investigations continue, and authorities are expected to present the case before the relevant court for further legal proceedings.
