The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Jubaland, Abdirahman Mohamed Dhiriq, officially welcomed the Chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA), Mahmoud Maallin Abdulle, along with a high-profile delegation from United Nations agencies at Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan Airport in Kismayo.
The delegation is on an official visit to discuss critical humanitarian issues, particularly the ongoing drought situation affecting Jubbaland regions. During their stay, they will hold strategic meetings with various Jubbaland government officials to coordinate response efforts and strengthen disaster preparedness.
In addition, the delegation will embark on a one-day field mission to Dhobley town in Lower Jubba region, where they will engage with local authorities and community representatives to gather firsthand insights and assess the humanitarian needs on the ground.
