Referee Omar Abdiqadir Cartan, who recently earned the prestigious title of Africa’s Best Referee, was today welcomed in Kismayo, Jubbaland State.
Cartan received an official invitation from the Jubbaland Football Association, which organized a special ceremony in his honor.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Jubbaland Football Association, the Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and several prominent figures from the sports community.
Officials praised Cartan for his remarkable achievement that elevated Somalia’s name on the continental stage and acknowledged his vital role in advancing refereeing standards and football development in the country.
