The President of the Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, attended the unveiling of a modern boat manufactured by Sommarine Limited, a local company specializing in marine equipment.
The vessel, the first of its kind to be built inside Somalia, is expected to operate along the Jubbaland coastline, where it will play a significant role in boosting the fishing sector and advancing the region’s growing blue economy.
President Ahmed Mohamed Islam praised Sommarine Limited for its innovation and technical expertise, commending the company’s contribution to strengthening local production. He also encouraged other investors to seize the vast opportunities available in Jubbaland’s rich marine resources.
