Kismayo Unveils New recreational Park to Boost Local Leisure and Business Opportunities

A brand-new recreational park has been officially opened in Kismayo, marking a significant milestone in the town’s efforts to enhance recreational infrastructure and promote local tourism.

The recreational park, meticulously designed with modern amenities and a family-friendly layout, addresses a long-standing need among Kismayo residents for accessible leisure spaces. Special attention was given to creating dedicated areas for children, a feature that has been notably absent in the town’s recreational offerings.

The launch event drew a diverse crowd, including government officials, business leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, and community members.

Jubaland government Director General of the Ministry of Livestock, Forestry, and Range, Abdullahi Ali Farah who praised the initiative and encouraged more entrepreneurs to invest in similar projects across the town.

“This park is not just a place for relaxation—it’s a symbol of progress and community well-being,” Farah stated during the opening ceremony.

Local businesspeople were also urged to take inspiration from the project and contribute to the development of Kismayo’s tourism and hospitality sectors, which hold immense potential for economic growth and social enrichment.
