The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Jubbaland State, Aydid Sulayman Hashi, today chaired an emergency meeting with Directors of the various departments of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, focused on pressing issues related to climate change impacts, environmental protection, and accelerating the implementation of the ministry’s priority activities.
The Minister instructed department directors to respond swiftly and transparently to existing challenges, while strengthening internal coordination and cooperation with partner institutions.
Minister Aydid Sulayman Hashi underscored the critical importance of safeguarding natural resources, preventing deforestation, and enhancing preparedness for the effects of climate change, particularly recurring droughts and floods that continue to threaten livelihoods across the region.
Department directors presented detailed briefings on ongoing initiatives, key constraints, and future plans.
They reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the Minister’s directives in order to achieve tangible progress and improved service delivery.
The Minister urged all ministry staff to double their efforts and work collectively toward achieving the ministry’s strategic objectives, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a clean, resilient, and sustainable environment for Jubbaland.
