A crucial meeting aimed at enhancing coordination between security agencies and the local community was held at the Central Police Station in Kismayo district.
The session was chaired by the deputy district commissioner and Secretary of the Local Government, Daahir Hussein Abdi, and attended by the deputy commissioner for social affairs, security officers, and neighborhood chairpersons from across the district.
The primary objective of the meeting was to reinforce collaboration between community members and security institutions to ensure lasting stability, mutual trust, and collective responsibility.
During the discussions, participants placed special focus on tightening security measures during the holy month of Ramadan, a period that often requires heightened vigilance to safeguard public safety.
The meeting also addressed ways to extend assistance to vulnerable families during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of identifying and supporting those most in need.
Officials at the gathering underscored the critical role of continuous cooperation between residents and security agencies in achieving sustainable peace and development. They further agreed to hold similar meetings regularly to assess the security situation and respond to the evolving needs of the community.
This meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to bolster peace, stability, and social cohesion in Kismayo—especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.
