In a significant move to accelerate regional development, the Speaker of the Jubbaland State Parliament paid an official working visit to Janna-Cabdalle yesterday, accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials and military leaders.
The delegation included the Minister of Internal Security, the Director General of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Members of Parliament, the Mayor of Kismayo, the Commander of Jubbaland’s Darawish Forces, and other senior military officers.
The purpose of the visit was to inspect and energize ongoing development projects in the area, ensuring they meet quality standards and effectively address the needs of the local population.
During the tour, the Speaker officially inaugurated the first phase of a newly constructed paved road connecting Kismayo to Afmadow, which has now successfully reached Janna-Cabdalle. This vital infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve transportation, boost trade, and enhance access to essential services for residents.
The delegation also visited a newly drilled borehole, designed to alleviate water shortages and provide clean, reliable water to the community. The borehole is part of Jubbaland’s broader strategy to improve water services and promote sustainable development in underserved areas.
