Jubbaland Leaders Lay Foundation for First-Ever Health Center in Doha Garsey Village, North of Kismayo

In a major step toward improving healthcare access in underserved areas, the Minister of Health and Social Care of Jubbaland, Isma’il Ahmed Garas, alongside fellow government officials, today laid the foundation stone for a new health center in Doha Garsey Village, northern Kismayo.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, the Mayor of Kismayo District, and the Director General of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum. This marks the first official health facility to be constructed in the area, aiming to address long-standing medical needs of the local population and surrounding villages.

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the local community, will oversee the construction and future operations of the center. Residents warmly welcomed the delegation, expressing gratitude and optimism about the positive impact this development will have on their lives.

During their visit, the officials also toured the local education center to assess the broader social service needs of the community, reinforcing the government’s commitment to holistic development in remote regions.
