The Jubaland State Government has issued a strong call for a comprehensive national consultation, citing the urgent need to refocus on priority issues facing Somalia.
In a press statement, Jubbaland emphasized that the current state of affairs demands unity, responsible leadership, and a renewed commitment to national interests.
Jubbaland expressed deep concern over the Federal Government’s deviation from critical national agendas—particularly the fight against terrorism and the safeguarding of Somali unity. The statement underscored that these shifts have weakened public trust and diverted attention from the country’s most pressing challenges.
“The Federal Government has failed to provide unifying leadership and continues to be preoccupied with short-term political interests,” the statement read.
In light of this, Jubbaland welcomed calls from various political actors and Somali citizens advocating for a national dialogue to reassess the country’s direction.
The state also voiced its full support for the recent declaration from the National Salvation Forum, which addressed the difficult phase Somalia is currently navigating.
Jubbaland reaffirmed its belief that the country’s future depends on inclusive consultation and genuine leadership that prioritizes the well-being of all Somalis. The government urged citizens to stand in solidarity for the unity and survival of the nation and to actively participate in efforts to build a future led by the people and for the people.
