The Special Police Forces of the Jubbaland State Government carried out a large-scale security operation targeting areas under Jamaame District in the Lower Juba region.
According to police officials, the operation successfully dismantled several hideouts used by the extremist Al-Shabaab Khawarij militants. The forces also uncovered and safely detonated landmines that had been planted by the militants with the intent to harm innocent civilians.
Authorities confirmed that the operation thwarted a planned attack aimed at destabilizing the region and terrorizing local communities. The swift action by the security forces prevented what could have been a devastating incident.
The security mission is part of ongoing efforts by Jubbaland’s security apparatus to strengthen peace and stability across the region and to neutralize threats posed by extremist groups targeting the Somali people.
