The Jubaland administration has issued a strong condemnation following a brutal mortar attack on the town of Beled Hawo in the Gedo region earlier today.

The assault, which targeted innocent civilians, was reportedly launched from the UK camp on the outskirts of the town by forces allegedly aligned with Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

According to official sources, the mortars struck residential areas, killing two civilians in their homes and injuring several others.

The attack is being described as a deliberate and unjustified act of aggression aimed at terrorizing and displacing the local population.

“This heinous act is a clear violation of human rights and a calculated attempt to inflict harm on innocent people,” the Jubbaland government stated.

It added, “It is a constitutional duty for the Jubbaland administration to protect its land and its people from such atrocities.”

The government further accused Somalia President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of orchestrating the attack as part of a broader campaign of violence and destabilization in the region.

Jubbaland authorities are calling on the people of Gedo to remain united, vigilant, and resilient in the face of these attacks.

“We urge all residents to stand together in solidarity and reject the barbaric tactics being used to sow fear and division,” the statement concluded.
