The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble has today arrived in Kismayo, the capital of the Jubaland state of Somalia.
The plane carrying the Somali premier and his entourage touched down at Kismayo international airport shortly shortly after 11:00am.
The Somali premier and his delegation was welcomed by Jubaland regional state President Ahmed Mohamed Islam, a mamoth and cheering crowd as well as various Jubbaland state officials.
Sources close to the Somali Prime Minister confirmed to the media that the main purpose of the trip is to resolve and find a lasting solution and made reconciliations on the Gedo region issue.
The Prime Minister’s visit is also part of the acceleration of the electoral process of the Somali nation.
The Somali premier is also expected to reach the town of Garbaharey, in Gedo region on Friday and make strong interventions to end the Gedo region’s long standing conflict in which is widely blamed on the outgoing Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble recently appointed a reconciliation committee for the Gedo region, which does not include members from the Jubaland state.
Mohamed Hussein Roble will also lay the foundation stone for a number of federal government projects in Kismayo town.
This is teh current Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble’s first visit to Jubaland regional state since he took office.
