The Ministry of Planning, Investment and International Cooperation of the Jubaland Government today launched the Jubaland Aid Coordination and Management Policy during a high-level ceremony held in Kismayo.
The event brought together government ministers, directors-general, representatives from United Nations agencies, international and local development organizations, as well as members of civil society organizations.
During the launch, officials presented the policy’s vision, objectives and strategic importance, highlighting its strong alignment with the Jubaland Sustainable Development Plan III (SDP-III) 2026–2030.
The policy is designed to provide a comprehensive framework for coordinating and managing development assistance to ensure greater impact and effectiveness.
Speakers emphasized the critical role the policy will play in strengthening aid coordination, enhancing transparency and promoting accountability across development interventions in Jubaland. The framework is expected to improve collaboration between government institutions and development partners while ensuring that external support is aligned with the needs, priorities and aspirations of local communities.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Jubaland’s efforts to improve development governance and maximize the benefits of donor-funded programs.
By establishing clear mechanisms for coordination and oversight, the new policy aims to ensure that development resources are utilized efficiently and contribute meaningfully to the region’s long-term
growth and prosperity.
Government officials reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with partners and stakeholders to implement the policy effectively, advancing sustainable development and delivering tangible results for the people of Jubaland.
