Doolow district commissioner, Mohamed Hussein Abdi has received a delegation of senior officials from several United Nations agencies, including UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM, FAO, and UN Women.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the district administration and UN agencies, with discussions centered on improving public service delivery and expanding support for vulnerable communities. Key priority areas included agricultural development, assistance for internally displaced persons (IDPs), and promoting women’s participation in local development.
Commissioner Lafeey expressed his appreciation for the agencies’ visit and their continued efforts in supporting the district. He emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration to better address the needs of the local community, noting that the district administration is fully committed to facilitating and working closely with partners to ensure the effective implementation of impactful projects.
Representatives of the UN agencies welcomed the strong working relationship with the district authorities and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing programs aimed at enhancing basic services, strengthening community resilience, and supporting sustainable development initiatives in Doolow.
