The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Jubbaland State Government, Ahmed Baraki, accompanied by members of the Jubbaland Cabinet, the Director of the Jubbaland Water Agency, and officials from Dhobley district, today officially opened a rehabilitated and expanded water well in the Deg‑Elema area, under Dhobley district.
The project included a complete overhaul of the existing well and the installation of modern systems and upgraded equipment. These improvements are designed to provide residents with easier access to clean, fresh, and reliable water.
The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to reducing water shortages and mitigating the effects of drought, while also enhancing the quality of life and essential services for communities in Deg‑Elema and surrounding areas.
Local residents expressed their gratitude to the Ministry for its continued efforts to improve water infrastructure and deliver sustainable solutions to long-standing water challenges.
