The Minister of Planning, Investment, and International Cooperation of the Jubaland State, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, held a pivotal meeting today in Nairobi with senior officials from the Embassy of Switzerland, led by Ms. Martina Durrer, Head of Regional Development Cooperation.
Accompanied by the Political Advisor to the President of Jubaland, Mohamed Abdi Nor, the Minister briefed the Swiss delegation on the current political and security landscape in Somalia.
He expressed concern over the instability and uncertainty caused by recent actions of the Federal Government, including a deadly conflict in the Gedo region of Jubbaland.
The meeting also explored investment opportunities and Jubaland’s strategic development plans. Both parties agreed on the importance of accelerating collaboration and strengthening ties between the Jubaland Government and international partners.
Minister Ahmed emphasized the need for sustained support to promote peace, stability, and economic growth in the region. The Swiss delegation reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with Jubaland to advance shared development goals.
