
The President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today presided over the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, where several critical policy proposals and updates were discussed.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs presented a comprehensive proposal aimed at regulating work permits for foreign employees operating within Jubbaland regional state. As part of the initiative, an inter-ministerial committee will be established to assess the qualifications and legal compliance of foreign workers, ensuring alignment with national labor laws and standards.
In a separate briefing, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported on the quality control measures for food and pharmaceutical products entering Jubbaland State. The ministry emphasized the need to strengthen inspection protocols to safeguard public health and ensure consumer safety.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction, and Housing unveiled a strategic resettlement plan for internally displaced persons (IDPs). The program is set to support nearly 5,000 vulnerable families by providing access to essential services and dignified housing solutions.
These developments mark a significant step forward in Jubbaland’s efforts to enhance governance, protect public welfare, and promote sustainable development across the region.
