All incoming and outgoing flights at Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan airport in Kismayo have been suspended indefinitely by the Somali Federal Government.
The indefinite order for the suspension of flights was said to have been issued by the Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud which seems to be a response to yesterday’s flight incident in Dollow in Gedo region of Somalia.
Many of the flight passengers at the Kismayo Airport waiting for their flight have registered their disappointment with the indefinite suspension of flights. Some of them seeking medical aid in Mogadishu while others were traveling back for educational purposes.
Scenes of passengers stranded at the Kismayo airport have been witnessed today while some opted to sleep due to tedious waiting.
In 2019, similar orders of suspension of flights have been witnessed in Kismayo ordered by the Somali federal government.
