Kenya arrests Turkish businessman associated with Kenya’s Deputy President

Turkish businessman Harun Aydin was arrested at Nairobi’s JKIA Airport on a passenger plane from Uganda.

Immigration and police officials allegedly arrested the Turkish national, first at the Anti-Terrorism Office on Ngong Road in Nairobi, and then at a police station in Nairobi.

Officials said they were questioning his understanding of the law in Kenya and what he was doing in Kenya in addition to Africa.

Harun Aydin is a close friend of William Ruto and has been in Uganda since August 2nd.

He is a businessman who owns Unit 2HA Investment Energy Africa Ltd, and has a work permit from the Kenya Immigration Service issued on June 30, 2021, which will expire on June 29 2023.
