The Director General of the Ministry of Interior Security of the Jubbaland State Government, Hared Kilaas Abdi, today inaugurated a high-level meeting in Kismayo focused on strengthening measures to prevent violence against children and combat the recruitment of children into armed groups.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss effective strategies for safeguarding children’s rights and enhancing coordinated efforts to prevent child abuse and child recruitment.
Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between government institutions, security agencies, and civil society organizations to ensure a safer and more protective environment for children.
Speaking at the event, participants underscored the importance of collective action, community awareness, and institutional cooperation in addressing threats facing children and promoting their well-being.
Among those in attendance were the Director General of the Ministry of Women and Human Rights of the Jubbaland State Government, representatives of civil society organizations in Kismayo, and senior officers from the Jubbaland Police Force and Darawiish Forces.
The meeting forms part of ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing child protection, raising public awareness, and fostering stronger partnerships among relevant institutions to prevent child rights violations and promote the welfare of children across Jubbaland.
