The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Jubaland, in partnership with the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), today officially inaugurated a new water supply project in the town of Diif, marking a significant milestone in efforts to improve access to safe and reliable water for local communities.
The project will deliver water from the Dusmaha borehole, located approximately 10 kilometres from Diif. The borehole was previously constructed by the Ministry as part of its broader strategy to expand water infrastructure across Jubaland and address water shortages in underserved areas.
The newly launched initiative is expected to provide residents with a sustainable source of clean water, helping to meet growing household and community needs while enhancing public health and living conditions.
Speaking on the importance of the project, officials noted that the intervention forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to strengthening water services throughout Jubaland. The government continues to prioritize investments in water infrastructure to ensure communities have adequate and dependable access to water.
The Ministry expressed its appreciation to LWF and its donor patners for its support and collaboration, emphasizing that partnerships of this kind are vital to delivering essential services and improving the well-being of communities across the region.
