Jubaland Health Minister Inspects Near-Completion Expansion of Afmadow General Hospital

The Minister of Health of the Jubaland State Government, Ismail Ahmed Garas, today conducted an inspection visit to the newly constructed extension of Afmadow General Hospital, a major health infrastructure project that has now reached its final stages of completion.

The Minister was accompanied by the Ministry’s Director of Administration and Finance, Mohamed Abdikadir, the Lower Jubba Regional Health Coordinator, Abdirizak Jamaus, and the Kismayo District Health Coordinator, Mohamed Sheikh.

During the visit, the Minister toured the facility to assess the progress of the construction works and received updates on the status of the project. He commended the significant progress achieved and expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the work.

The hospital expansion is expected to play a vital role in strengthening healthcare delivery in Afmadow and the surrounding areas by enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide improved medical services to the community.

Speaking during the inspection, the Minister highlighted the importance of investing in healthcare infrastructure, noting that the completion of the project will contribute significantly to improving access to quality healthcare services and meeting the growing needs of the population.

The new hospital extension is anticipated to become a key addition to the region’s health system, further advancing Jubaland’s efforts to improve public health services and healthcare outcomes for its citizens.
