The Jubbaland Armed Forces and Serious Crimes Court has issued a ruling in a case involving financial fraud and deception committed against a victim identified as Abdi Khalif Ahmed.
The case involved three defendants: Mustafe Ahmed Ali alias Waraad, identified by the court as the principal architect of the fraudulent scheme; Abdullahi Ali Shiimoy and Abdiasis Mohamed Adan, who remains at large and is currently being sought by security and justice agencies.
Following its review of the evidence and legal proceedings, the court ordered Mustafe Ahmed Ali alia Waraad to pay $23,644 in compensation to the victim. Abdullahi Ali Shiimoy was ordered to pay $4,000, while Abdiasis Mohamed Adan, who was tried in absentia, was sentenced to pay $6,383.50.
According to the Presiding Judge, security and law enforcement authorities are continuing efforts to locate and apprehend Abdiasis Mohamed Adan so that the court’s ruling can be enforced.
The verdict underscores Jubbaland’s commitment to combating financial crimes and ensuring justice for victims of fraud and deception.
