The Jubbaland State Darawiish forces stationed in Dolow district in Gedo region have carried out targeted security operations across several surrounding areas in an effort to counter threats posed by extremist Al-Shabaab militants.
Officials say the operation is part of ongoing measures to strengthen security as communities prepare for upcoming Eid celebrations to mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to security units on the ground, the primary objective of the operation is to prevent any activities that may disrupt the peace, joy, and stability of the public during this period.
The security commander of Dolow district, Mohamed Hassan Buulle—who led the operation—stated that the Darawiish forces will continue conducting similar security sweeps to ensure residents of Dolow and neighboring villages can live in safety and tranquility.
Commanders also urged local communities to cooperate closely with security forces by reporting any suspicious activity, emphasizing that strong collaboration between civilians and security agencies is essential for maintaining lasting peace.
