Mass Prayer gathering was held today in Kismayo, where thousands of residents assembled to ask Allah for relief from the severe drought gripping the region.

The congregation prayed for rain that would bring comfort and survival to both people and livestock facing escalating hardship.

The event drew participation from a wide range of community members, including officials from the Jubaland administration—among them several cabinet ministers—students from local schools, and residents from neighborhoods across the town. United in purpose, attendees collectively prayed for the drought’s burden to be lifted from the population.

In addition to the traditional Salaat al-Istisqa (rain-seeking prayer), religious scholars who joined the gathering delivered supplications and sermons. They emphasized the spiritual and communal importance of coming together in such difficult times and encouraged continued unity as the community seeks Allah’s mercy and rainfall.
