The Minister of Planning, Investment and International Cooperation of the Jubbaland State Government, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, accompanied by senior technical officials from the Ministry, including the Director General, on Wednesday held a productive high-level meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Somalia, Hans Henric Lundquist, together with the Head of Development Cooperation and the Head of Political Affairs at the Swedish Embassy.
The discussions focused on the ongoing drought situation affecting communities across Jubbaland, the implementation and priorities of the Jubbaland Development Plan, as well as strengthening infrastructure development and promoting sustainable investment opportunities in the region.
Minister Abdirahman expressed deep appreciation to the Government of Sweden for its long-standing and continued support to Jubbaland, particularly in the areas of state-building, development, and humanitarian assistance. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation to address urgent challenges and advance long-term development goals.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both sides to enhancing partnership and coordination in support of peace, resilience, and sustainable development in Jubbaland.
