The Jubbaland State Military Court today carried out the death sentence against Adan Ibrahim Ahmed Macow, a member of the Jubbaland Presidential Guard, who was earlier convicted of killing his colleague, the late Abdifatah Omar Sharif, also a soldier in the Presidential Guard.
The incident stemmed from a dispute between the two soldiers over a pair of military boots. The argument escalated until Macow fatally stabbed his fellow soldier, Abdifatah Omar Sharif, on 24 June 2025.
Following an extensive investigation, the Jubbaland Military Court, which convened three separate hearings on the case, sentenced Adan Ibrahim Ahmed Macow to death by firing squad as retribution for the killing of Abdifatah Omar.
Today, the court officially carried out the execution. The verdict and its implementation were confirmed by Captain Ismail Abdi Ali, the Military Prosecutor, who addressed the media and announced that the Jubbaland Military Court had enforced the “Qisaas” sentence in accordance with the law.
