The Jubaland Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has begun a major water‐trucking operation to support drought‑stricken communities in areas west of Kismayo, where both people and livestock have been severely affected by prolonged water shortages.

The emergency intervention—rolled ou7t in some of the hardest‑hit locations—has so far reached key settlements, including Barkada Shariifada and Koran Uusle, with additional villages still awaiting assistance amid reports of worsening water scarcity.

Residents in the areas where the relief operation has already begun expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry and to the Qatar Red Crescent, which funded the initiative. The communities offered prayers for all those who contributed to the effort, asking God to reward them with goodness.

In a heartfelt appeal, the affected families called on Somalis both inside the country and across the diaspora to stand with them during this difficult time and extend support to help meet their urgent needs.
