Jubbaland State security forces, in coordination with the elite Danab Commandos, carried out a planned operation last night in Jamame district targeting senior leaders of the Al-Shabaab Khawaarij militant group.
The operation, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security in the region, successfully neutralized the area’s most notorious commander, Farah Jibril, along with seven other militants. These individuals had long terrorized local communities, imposing hardship and fear.
Officials leading the mission confirmed its success, emphasizing that the operation is a critical step in restoring stability in Jamaame, its surroundings, and across Jubaland.
Additional security operations are underway to dismantle remaining Khawaarij hideouts and ensure lasting peace and safety for residents.
