The Minister of Livestock and Forestry for the Jubbaland State Government, Mohamed Nuraan Ali, has embarked on a significant working visit to Janna Cabdalle and surrounding villages, regions heavily reliant on livestock rearing for their livelihoods.
Accompanied by a team of specialized veterinarians and ministry staff, the Minister’s visit aimed to deliver critical veterinary services and raise awareness among pastoralist communities. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry, included a comprehensive package of animal healthcare services such as vaccinations, medical treatments, and general health assessments.
In addition to direct medical interventions, the team conducted awareness sessions focused on the prevention of contagious livestock diseases and the importance of consistent animal care. These efforts come in response to a recent surge in livestock illnesses—particularly affecting camels and goats—that have posed a serious threat to the region’s pastoral economy.
Minister Nuraan reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to expanding veterinary services across rural areas and enhancing preparedness to tackle animal health challenges.
