In a significant step toward strengthening local security services, the Minister of Security for the Jubaland State Government, Yusuf Hussein Dhuumaal, accompanied by the Acting Commander of the Lower Jubba Regional Police Division, Captain Omar Hujale Ali, has officially laid the foundation stone for a new police station in the village of Luglow.

The new facility is designed to provide essential security services to residents of Luglow and surrounding areas, located on the outskirts of Kismayo. The village is home to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees who have recently resettled in Jubbaland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dhuumaal and Captain Hujale emphasized the urgency of the project, noting that construction will begin immediately to ensure the community receives timely and effective policing services.

The initiative reflects Jubbaland’s commitment to expanding access to security infrastructure in underserved areas, promoting stability, and supporting vulnerable populations in their journey toward recovery and reintegration.
