Jubbaland State President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam today presided over the weekly meeting of the Jubaland Council of Ministers, where pressing issues affecting the region were discussed.
The Ministry of Internal Security presented a detailed report on the overall security situation across Jubbaland, with a particular focus on the tribal conflicts in Luuq district. The Ministry highlighted ongoing efforts aimed at resolving the tensions and restoring peace, stability, and social cohesion among the affected communities.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources briefed the Cabinet on the growing water scarcity in parts of Jubbaland, attributed to the delayed rainy season. The Ministry showcased several water supply and extraction projects recently implemented in drought-affected areas, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the urgent needs of its citizens.
In a move to boost the region’s tourism sector, the Cabinet also approved the Jubaland Tourism Policy, submitted by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
