
Jubbaland State President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam today presided over the weekly meeting of the Jubbaland Council of Ministers, where key national priorities were discussed, including preparations for local council elections, enhancement of public services, tourism policy development and youth empowerment through sports.
During the session, the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation presented a comprehensive report on the ongoing preparations for local council elections across Jubbaland districts. The report highlighted priority activities already undertaken to ensure a smooth and inclusive electoral process.
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism unveiled the official Jubaland Tourism Policy, a strategic framework designed to guide the development and promotion of the region’s tourism sector. The policy aims to align government efforts with long-term economic goals, boost domestic and international tourism, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
In a separate presentation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports introduced the Jubbaland Sports Policy, which outlines a roadmap for advancing sports infrastructure and increasing youth participation in athletic programs. The ministry also provided updates on the construction of the Raas-Kambooni sports stadium, noting that the project is progressing well and nearing a significant milestone.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to accelerating development initiatives that benefit communities across Jubbaland State.
