The Minister of Planning and Investment of the Jubbaland State Government, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, accompanied by the Ministry’s Director General and heads of various departments, held a preliminary meeting today with a high-level delegation from UNICEF.
The delegation was led by UNICEF’s Regional Head for Jubbaland, South West, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and Banadir, and included senior officials from the organization’s planning, monitoring and evaluation departments.
This meeting marks the beginning of a broader visit by the UNICEF team to Kismayo in the coming days, aimed at accelerating and enhancing the collaborative efforts between the Jubbaland Ministry of Planning and UNICEF.
During the discussions, both parties exchanged updates on ongoing projects, development plans related to social services and strategies to strengthen long-term cooperation between Jubbaland and UNICEF.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to UNICEF for its continued support to Jubbaland regional state, emphasizing the importance of genuine partnership in advancing essential public services and sustainable development across the region.
