New Police Station Inaugurated in Strategic Barsanguni to Boost Security and Community Ties

In a significant step toward strengthening local security and community collaboration, Acting Commander and Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in the Lower Juba Regional Police Command, Captain Omar Hujaale Abdi, officially inaugurated a newly constructed police station in Barsanguni, Jamaame District.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key regional leaders, including the Deputy Governor of Lower Juba, Muuse Mohamed Sheekh, the Mayor of Kismayo and senior police officers.

The station, built through a self-help initiative, reflects the unwavering commitment of the regional police force to enhance public safety and service delivery.

Barsanguni holds strategic importance in the region, and the new station is expected to play a vital role in improving security, facilitating community services and fostering stronger cooperation between security forces and local residents.

Speaking at the event, Captain Omar Hujaale Abdi urged the community to work closely with security personnel and stand united against threats posed by extremist groups.

He emphasized that collective action is key to achieving lasting peace, development and a better quality of life for all.
