The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of the Jubaland State Government today convened a high-level Community Dialogue Forum on Good Governance in the city of Kismayo. The event brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders to discuss the intersection of Islamic values and effective governance.
The forum was attended by senior directors from various Jubaland ministries, members of parliament, deputy chairpersons of parliamentary committees, representatives of civil servants, displaced persons and refugees, civil society leaders, JUNSA (Jubaland Network of Civil Society Associations), the Council of Scholars, camp leaders for internally displaced persons, the Disabled Persons’ Association, and other distinguished guests.
Organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the forum featured insightful lectures from prominent scholars including Sheikh Ali Nur, Sheikh Ahmed Siiro, Sheikh Jama Saleeban, Sheikh Mahat, and Sheikh Abdirashid. The scholars emphasized the importance of integrity, justice, and accountability in public service, urging government employees to uphold Islamic principles in their duties and to fear Allah in all aspects of their work.
The event was officially inaugurated by Jubaland’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Mohamed Yusuf, who highlighted the ministry’s commitment to fostering ethical governance rooted in faith and community values.
Participants warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation to the ministry, calling for the forum to be held regularly to strengthen collaboration between government institutions and the public.
