In a significant step toward strengthening regional cooperation, the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of Jubbaland State, alongside the Minister of Commerce and Industry, paid an official visit to government offices in Lamu County, Kenya.
The high-level visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance socio-economic and cultural collaboration between Jubbaland and Lamu.
During their stay, the Jubbaland delegation held strategic meetings with their counterparts in Lamu, including the Ministers of Tourism, Trade, Public Works and Housing.
Discussions focused on unlocking new opportunities for partnership, particularly in the areas of tourism development, cross-border trade, investment, and public service delivery. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to accelerating joint initiatives and agreed to establish a bilateral committee tasked with implementing the shared action plans.
This renewed cooperation is expected to open new avenues for development, foster peace and economic growth, and strengthen the social bonds between communities on both sides of the border.
