Community and Security Leaders Unite in Kismayo to Combat Social Misconduct

A pivotal meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between security agencies and the local community was held at the Central Police Station in Kismayo. The forum focused on raising awareness and preventing social misconduct, with particular attention given to youth engagement and moral guidance.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairperson for Social Affairs of Kismayo District, Najiib Bare Salad, and brought together senior security officials, neighborhood leaders, and prominent religious scholars from Kismayo town.

During the discussions, participants emphasized the vital role of religious leaders in educating the public—especially young people—on the importance of upholding moral values and rejecting behaviors that threaten peace and cultural integrity.

The scholars expressed their commitment to ongoing community outreach through mosques, educational institutions, and social centers, aiming to foster a well-informed society that steers clear of actions harmful to ethics and public safety.

Security officials, on their part, pledged to enhance cooperation with the community and intensify efforts to maintain safety across neighborhoods.
