A contingent of Jubaland government forces and the Elite Danab Commandos who have been conducting a planned security operation in the Lower Jubba region since Wednesday have targeted hideouts of the Al-Shabaab militants.
During the security operation, the militants seized a large cache of weapons, including various types of ammunition.
The joint forces also eliminated 48 militants while capturing two others alive.
The commanding officers stated that the operation will continue until the country is completely cleared of ragtag militants.
