Jubbaland Government distances itself from the FGS National ID Card roll out, urges Jubbaland community to ignore it for having no legal basis

The Jubbaland Ministry of Interior informs the Somali community, especially the Jubbaland community to be wary of any law that has not been upheld by the Jubbaland Government.

“The Jubbaland Ministry of Interior clarifies that it does not recognize the so-called National Identity Card, which does not have a legal basis and we recognize that it is something designed only to achieve political interests”, Reads part of the Ministry statement.

The Jubbaland Ministry of Interior has informed the Jubbaland community not to participate in anything that violates the law and regulations of the Jubbaland government.

“The community is required to follow the procedures and laws of the Jubbaland Government and be vigilant against anything that may cause harm”.

The state reads further, “The Jubbaland Government focuses on advancing the interests of the people of Jubbaland and always works to serve the Jubbaland Community that it represents”.

The Somalia National ID card, also known as the Citizen’s Identity Card, is a key document for citizens and legal residents in Somalia.

The ID card is available in both physical and digital formats and is used for various purposes, including voting, banking, healthcare among other things.
