Somali embassy in Egypt provides food and cash donation to needy families during Ramadan

The Somali embassy in Egypt has today concluded a donation drive to needy families in Egypt.

The donation, the first of its kind by the Somali embassy, ​​has benefited 1,100 needy families in Nasri City, Ardi Luuba and 6 October in Egypt.

The families who benefited from the donation said they were very grateful to the Ambassador for his assistance, thanking Ambassador Ilyas Sheikh Omar and all those who contributed to the facilitation and delivery of the donation.

Ambassador Ilyas Sheikh Omar also thanked the Imam of Al Azhar Al Sheikh Dr Ahmad al Tayyib, the Egyptian Food Bank and the brotherly government of Egypt for their support to the Somali citizens living in Egypt.

The donation, which included food and cash was meant to break the fast for poor families in Cairo during the holy month of Ramadan.
