
The Jubbaland Deputy Minister of Health, Abshir Mohamed, and a delegation he is leading, who arrived in Elwak District yesterday, held an extensive consultative meeting today with the district administration, traditional elders, youth representatives, and various sectors of the local community.
The delegation included the Gedo Regional Health Coordinator, officials from the international humanitarian organization Trócaire, and other accompanying members.
Discussions focused on the overall situation of the residents of Elwak District, with community leaders and stakeholders outlining the key challenges and pressing needs facing the area. Particular attention was given to the state of healthcare services and the urgent need to strengthen access to quality medical care for local residents.
Participants exchanged views on ways to address existing gaps and improve essential services, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government institutions, development partners, and the community.
All parties agreed to work together to advance the development of Elwak District and to tackle any obstacles that may hinder the wellbeing of residents and the delivery of vital social services.
The visit underscores Jubbaland’s continued commitment to engaging communities and strengthening healthcare systems across the region through partnership, dialogue, and collective action.
