
The Speaker of the Jubaland Parliament, Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman, accompanied by the Minister of Women, Family Affairs and Human Rights of Jubaland, Cadar Ismail Abdullaahi, officially inaugurated the Afmadow Women’s Development Center, a facility recently established by the Ministry to support and empower women in the district.
The ceremony brought together a wide range of dignitaries, including the Chairperson of the Lower Jubba Regional Women’s Association, members of Jubaland government institutions, and other distinguished guests.
Speaking during the event, officials highlighted the center’s role in promoting women’s empowerment, capacity building, and community development. They noted that the facility will serve as an important platform for enhancing women’s participation in social and economic activities while advancing their rights and welfare.
The newly opened center reflects Jubaland’s ongoing commitment to strengthening support systems for women and fostering inclusive development across its communities.
Attendees welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward creating greater opportunities for women in Afmadow and the surrounding areas.
