Members of both houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia representing Jubbaland have commended the ongoing security operations conducted by the Jubbaland State forces, praising their role in combating terrorist groups and restoring access to vital road networks across the region.
In a joint press statement, the lawmakers expressed strong support for the efforts of the Jubbaland Police Force and the Jubbaland Darawiish forces, noting that recent operations have dealt significant blows to militant groups responsible for insecurity and civilian suffering. The representatives highlighted that the operations have resulted in heavy losses for the armed groups, both in personnel and equipment.
The MPs emphasized that extremist groups have long targeted the population of Jubbaland and other parts of Somalia, obstructing development and peace. They stated that the current security gains are a critical step toward eliminating the threat posed by these groups and enabling the delivery of essential services to local communities.
The statement further reaffirmed the lawmakers’ commitment to supporting Jubbaland’s security institutions, encouraging continued cooperation between the public and security forces to sustain the fight against militancy.
The representatives also called on the Somali public at large to stand united with the armed forces, stressing that collective support is essential to achieving lasting peace and stability across Somalia.
