Jubbaland State security forces, particularly the National Rescue Battalion, under the Jubbaland Intelligence and Security Agency and the elite Danab Commandos, have carried out successful security operations in the Cag‑Libaax area, located approximately 30 kilometers from Harboole.
According to security officials, the forces neutralized planned attacks by Al-Shabaab militant elements and successfully reopened the vital road linking Afmadow and Harboole. The route had previously been exploited by militants who used it to infiltrate the area through covert movements.
Operations aimed at restoring security and stability are continuing at full scale in Harboole and across the remote forested areas where the militants had been hiding.
The forces are conducting sustained sweeps to eliminate remaining threats and prevent any regrouping.
During the operations, the militants attempted what authorities described as desperate attacks on security units conducting foot patrols. The forces repelled the assaults decisively, inflicting significant losses on the attackers and foiling their plans.
Security officials confirmed that the operations remain ongoing, with forces intensifying efforts to secure liberated areas and ensure long‑term stability for local communities.
