President of the Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today officially inaugurated the Doolow Displacement and Host Community Resilience Project.
Funded by the African Development Bank with an investment of $21 million, the project aims to strengthen community resilience, reduce dependency on aid, and promote sustainable self-reliance for long-term development.
The initiative will focus on constructing nearly 2,000 housing units, developing irrigation systems and productive farmland, as well as enhancing skills training and empowering vulnerable groups. It also seeks to expand economic opportunities and improve the overall quality of life for local communities.
This project is expected to play a vital role in boosting agricultural productivity and reinforcing the resilience of communities in Doolow district.
