The Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Finance, Nur Omar Shale, today led a high‑level workshop in Kismayo aimed at enhancing coordination and harmonization of Somalia’s national budgeting procedures.
The workshop brought together budget departments from both the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Federal Member States (FMS). The event was organized by the FCDO, under the Public Finance Reform Component (PFRC) project.
The primary objective of the workshop was to strengthen cooperation and establish consistent, unified budgeting frameworks between the FGS and FMS.
Participants discussed ways to reinforce collaboration and ensure that budgeting processes across all government levels follow a standardized national approach.
This initiative is widely viewed as a significant step toward improving Somalia’s financial governance and advancing a coherent national budget system.
