The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Jubbaland, Aydid Suleyman Hashi, has laid the foundation stone for a new Greenhouse Center in the Jana Abdalle area of Lower Juba.

The facility is designed to cultivate and preserve thousands of plant species as part of a wider initiative to restore and green the region.
The diverse tree varieties that will be grown at the center are intended for large-scale planting across Jana Abdalle and surrounding villages. The project forms a key component of the Ministry’s ongoing environmental restoration strategy, aimed at accelerating greening efforts throughout Jubbaland.

During the visit, the Minister also handed over 50 assorted tree seedlings to the local administration. These trees are designated for public spaces including hospitals, schools, and other community facilities. As a symbolic start to the initiative, the Minister personally planted the first tree at the Jana Abdalle Community Hospital.

The launch marks another significant step in Jubbaland’s commitment to environmental conservation and climate resilience.
