The President of Jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, held a meeting on Sunday evening with Senator Ilyaas Badal Gaboose and Sheikh Daahir Ahmed Abdullahi, focusing on strengthening unity and fostering lasting peace across the region.
In a statement released on his official Facebook page, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam emphasized that the collective interest of the Jubbaland people must rise above all other considerations.
He stated:
“My brothers, Senator Ilyaas Badal Gaboose and Sheikh Daahir Ahmed Abdullahi, and I have agreed that the public interest, peace, and unity of the people of Jubbaland outweigh everything else. We are committed to working together for the well‑being of the Jubaland community.”
The President reaffirmed the regional government’s readiness to make significant concessions if necessary to achieve genuine unity and cohesion among Jubbaland’s communities.
“The Jubaland government is fully prepared to make unlimited compromises to ensure complete unity and cooperation. We are determined to resolve all political differences through peaceful and constructive dialogue that safeguards the public interest, stability, and future of the people of Jubaland,” the statement added.
The meeting is seen as a positive step toward reinforcing political reconciliation and enhancing cooperation among Jubaland’s leadership.
